Plot:
With a short prologue of his childhood, is a dramatization of the adult life of Hank Williams from before his musical fame to his death. He was working peddling snake oil, his sales pitches often including him singing that is when allowed by his bosses, sometimes of songs made up right then and there. It was during one of these impromptu performances when he was spotted by another traveling music act, The Drifting Cowboys, who asked him to join their band. Band member Audrey Sheppard would go on to become Audrey Williams. In the process of hustling for gigs, Audrey, seeing his inherent songwriting abilities, sent a sample of Hank's music to Nashville music publisher Fred Rose, who not only saw that same songwriting ability, but Hank's singing and performing ability, all which had the same heartfelt quality. That meeting with Fred would be the major stepping stone to fame for specifically Hank. However, that fame would fundamentally affect Hank, a basically simple person who could not handle that fame in often consciously or subconsciously trying to sabotage it much to especially Audrey's chagrin in she supporting Hank in that fame.
