Plot:
Vicky, a cerebral, soon-to-be-married major in Catalan studies, and Cristina, her adventurous and carefree best friend, decide to spend their summer vacation in beautiful Barcelona. But there, the same man catches their eye at an art gallery exhibition: he is seductive Juan Antonio, an eccentric painter known for his scandalous divorce from Maria Elena, his tempestuous former wife. And as one thing leads to another, Vicky and Cristina join Juan Antonio on a long weekend in his hometown of Oviedo. However, the ladies are unaware that the sweet perplexities of passion and the haunting mystery of desire are about to lure everyone into a volatile menage a quatre.
