Martin Siedler is dedicated to his job. The newlywed heads the press department of a pharmaceutical company that produces Haemoprin. The drug for hemophiliacs promotes blood clotting and saves lives. What the expectant father hasn't told anyone there: He himself is a hemophiliac. As evidence gradually mounts that the drug is contaminated with HIV, he turns against the company, which is trying to cover everything up... Director Friedemann Fromm tackles one of Germany's biggest medical scandals from the 1980s. More than a thousand people have since died, and another 500 are infected or have AIDS. The insidious part: At the time, there was a process to purify the blood plasma used. For most pharmaceutical companies, it was considered too expensive.
