Plot:
Brigitte Laurier, the young and impulsive daughter of the French Prime Minister, is determined to shape her life according to her own ideas. When she falls in love with Michel Legrand, her father's handsome office manager, she does everything she can to win him over. Michel, who has a reputation for being a charmer and womanizer, initially dutifully tries to fend off Brigitte's advances. But Brigitte does not give up and manages to stage a scandal that ultimately forces Michel to marry her. However, the couple's marriage is ill-fated from the start. Brigitte is sure that Michel will cheat on her sooner or later and, after a phone call from one of his former lovers, believes that he is probably already having an affair. She angrily confronts him at a gala held on the occasion of Prince Charles' state visit. Filled with jealousy, Brigitte declares that she will cheat on Michel with the next person who walks through the door. When Prince Charles himself enters the room, Michel laughs and wishes her good luck in her endeavor. Brigitte, however, is not deterred - and flirts diligently.
