Christine

Thirty-something Christine has just become widowed, her husband passing away at his desk midway through writing a personal letter to an unknown intended recipient implying how happy his life is. Despite having had an affluent life, Christine, as she goes through his and their personal effects, reflects on that life, she coming to the realization of how unsatisfying it has been for her. That reflection goes back twenty years in discovering her dance card from a ball, her first, to celebrate her sixteenth birthday, many of the ten men with who she danced having professed their eternal love for her that evening. She decides to go on a mission to speak to as many of those men that she can locate to give her some perspective on how to move forward in her life. Of the supposed eight men still surviving, she is unable to locate one, Gerard Dambreval, the only one who she loved at the time. Regardless of not locating Gerard, she is hoping to relive the hope that that evening with them provided to her at the time.
