Set in the United Kingdom in the not too near future, Dione and David Sinclair are thrust into a nightmarish legal battle when their teenage daughter, Teah, commits a serious crime. Under a radical new law passed 3 years earlier, parents are no longer just bystanders in their children's actions they are directly accountable by the State. Dione and David now face relentless interrogation by Judicial Inquisitor Sarah Willis, as every aspect of their parenting, lifestyle, and past decisions are meticulously scrutinised by her. The embattled parents, struggle to defend themselves against the system that sees them as perpetrators rather than victims. If found guilty, Dione and David could face life behind bars.
