The Surfer

Amid awkward silences and unpleasant truths, a former article writer drives his only son to a special place. It's true that things could have been better between them, but now the parent is confident that his secret plan will help him reconnect with his boy and wipe the slate clean. After all, he never stopped trying. However, good intentions can only take you so far when you don't belong. As the two estranged men attempt to bond in a sunbathed surfer's paradise, a severe case of localism makes it clear that the cove's white-capped breakers are off limits to outsiders. But this was supposed to be a public beach. Now, with tensions reaching a boiling point, the dream of redemption becomes impossible. Bruised, abused, and on his knees, the surfer can only wonder.
