The Snow Must Go On

Isaiah Heyward was once an up-and-coming Broadway musical actor with a successful, well-received starring role in "I See You", but his career has not only stalled but stumbled despite his talent. This Christmas season, he has resorted to writing and starring in a one-night-only one-man Christmas musical on his own dime, but it receives no attention; he doesn't even get through the door in an open casting call for impresario Cindy Santos' latest Broadway musical, and his only source of income this season, a stint as a caroler, dries up when he is fired for missing work to attend that open audition. In the process, he comes to the realization that his professional struggles are overtaking his life at the expense of family and friends, so he decides to take his divorced sister Jess' invitation to spend Christmas with her and her daughter Aurora in Hancock, in upstate New York. Isaiah's arrival at Aurora's high school to pick her up one afternoon coincides with the drama teacher storming off. Aurora and her classmates are able to convince him, initially reluctantly, to take over the school's Christmas Eve original musical production in the old adage "the show must go on". This idea is supported by the school's guidance counselor, Miss Lilly-Anne Bergante, and ultimately the school principal Mr. Ott, a Broadway fan. Isaiah doesn't realize that he only has three weeks to put it together with Lilly-Anne's help, including writing the complete second act and dealing with the students and their wide range of issues. He thinks that he's back on the road to Broadway when he learns that the shyest of the students, Miranda, is Cindy Santos' daughter. As he starts to form a romantic bond with Lilly-Anne, he must decide how far he will go to impress Cindy Santos at the expense of the students, the production, and his burgeoning romantic relationship.
