Major John Bolton, a dragoon part of a covert wing of the citizen's army, he who protects the identity of those in his unit even up the chain of command, is assigned by his superior General Robert Howe to counterintelligence to infiltrate the redcoats in part to discover the identity of and thus stop the work of Gustavus and Osborn, he well aware that the redcoats discovering that he is working against them meaning his certain death.
