Pomme, a guileless 19-year-old assistant hairdresser living with her mother, works in a Parisian beauty salon. When her only friend, Marylene, a more experienced and independent woman, takes her to the chic seaside resort of Cabourg in Normandy for vacation, Pomme meets Francois, a cultivated literature student.
