Plot Storyline

In pre-unified China, the King of Qin sends his concubine to a rival kingdom to produce an assassin for a political plot, but as the king's cruelty mounts she finds her loyalty faltering.

China, 230 BC. In a land divided into six powerful kingdoms, the idealistic king Ying Zheng harbours an ambitious vision. Obsessed with unifying China and becoming its first emperor, he embarks on a bloody campaign to forcefully subdue the neighbouring realms in pursuit of a peaceful and united country. Now, anyone who dares to stand in his way pays the price. Amid turmoil, Lady Zhao, the ruler's long-time concubine, finds herself embroiled in a dangerous assassination plot. As a result, her life and the fate of Zheng's dream hang in the balance. Faced with a harrowing secret and a ruthless task, is the monarch truly destined to unite and lead?
