An adult kidney is transplanted to 5 kg infants - the only way to save a child. This complex procedure can only be performed by one surgeon in Russia, Mikhail Kaabak, who has been dismissed. The parents' fight for the doctor, his reinstatement, and subsequent dismissal lead to a series of events that bring Mikhail Mikhailovich to a Moscow courtroom. There, he must defend his right to save children's lives against representatives of a rigid, outdated system he himself is a part of.
