Plot:
Neil Bennett, an English man from a wealthy family, is on vacation in Acapulco with his sister Alice and her children at a luxury resort. When the family suddenly learns that their mother is seriously ill and then passes away, they are forced to return immediately to London for the funeral. On the way to the airport, Neil claims he has forgotten his passport at the hotel, using this as an excuse to miss the flight - but in reality, he deliberately chooses to remain alone in Acapulco. He moves into a modest hotel, ignores calls and messages from his family, and spends his days wandering between the beach, small restaurants, and a budding relationship with a local woman named Berenice. As the film unfolds, Neil's seemingly apathetic behavior raises questions about his deeper motivations, the existential crisis he is experiencing, and the meaning he assigns to his life and family responsibilities.
