Plot:
1867 in the Wild West: the small town of Snake Valley resembles a seething cauldron where corruption and violence reign. Two years ago, a large part of the 5th Sniper Battalion of the Northern States disappeared nearby without a trace - the official investigation led to no results. When private detective Alan Pinkerton receives a blackmail letter claiming that one of the soldiers is still alive, he seeks out his friend Rocco. Rocco, alias "Sugar Colt", is a legendary marksman who has hung up his revolver. After the war, he made a quiet life for himself as a self-defense trainer for women. Detective Pinkerton asks him to follow up the letter and search for the missing persons in Snake Valley. But Rocco initially refuses the assignment - until Pinkerton is shot dead in front of him shortly afterwards. Disguised as a doctor, Rocco sets off and infiltrates the disreputable community. In the saloon, he looks for allies who could help him unravel the mystery - and meets the former Colonel Haberbrook, who rules the town with an iron hand. Rocco cleverly exploits the advantages of his disguise to gather information with the help of narcotic gas. But the deeper he delves into the swamp of betrayal, the more dangerous his double-cross becomes - until his cover is actually blown.
