The envelope for that dead letter was inadvertently dropped in a prop mailbox for a commercial Oliver and Joe were filming, meaning that it is current. That letter, in a oil and peanut butter stained and bicycle tire marked torn envelope with only a Las Vegas city marking and a business stamp, contains an unwashed t-shirt and the mostly intact letter except for the addressee and the letter writer's names. It is a love letter to Sandy addressed to her care giver with a bucket list of items for Sandy to do arguably before she dies, with the letter writer unable to be with her. What happens with the letter will affect Joe and Oliver's bonding time in that truly providential way.
