Against the backdrop of Evelyne Ducat's unaccountable disappearance on the windswept, snow-covered region of the Causse Mejean plateau in southern France, chance and coincidence define the overlapping lives of six entirely different people. And, with the police still trying to sniff out clues, five chapters of unrequited love, dysfunctional relationships, fatal attraction, identity swaps, well-hidden secrets, and erotic obsession begin to unfold. In life, we all need to love and be loved, and in this intricate spider's web, all six characters are eager to go to great lengths to escape loneliness.
