The Movie Star and the Cowboy

Hollywood actress Isabella Francis has made a name for herself portraying the lovable sidekick on the television sitcom Old College Friends for seven years, a project and role she feels she has long outgrown. She gets her possible big break when she gets an audition for the lead in a dramatic feature film, a western. Stating on her resume that she knows how to do the tasks required of the character's life on a ranch (which is a lie), she gets the role on the caveat that she spend a couple of weeks on a working Montana ranch to get acclimatized, her last test before she is guaranteed the role being to ride a horse for the casting director, something she doesn't yet know how to do but that the studio doesn't know. She decides to take the risk as the series has not yet finished filming for the season, she not guaranteed her role will be there for her for next season if she leaves early. Her training ground is Dreamscape Ranch owned and operated by long widowed Hunter Johnson. Isabella and Hunter live in two different worlds, she, as an actor does, just wanting to learn the tasks on her checklist, while he wants to go about his daily routine with her as his ranch hand. What he has not told anyone except his ranch hand Walter is that the ranch has long been in financial difficulty, this contract with the studio which will only go part-way to solving those financial issues. Slowly, she becomes immersed in his life, and learning of the problems of the ranch tries to help in one way after another without telling him, her efforts not always turning out as she or he wants which threatens their burgeoning friendship and romance.
