Purple Butterfly

Manchuria, 1928. During the Japanese occupation of Shanghai, Itami, a young Japanese man, falls deeply in love with Cynthia, a beautiful Chinese woman. However, an act of brutal violence committed by Japanese right-wing extremists shatters Cynthia's world, abruptly ending their passionate relationship. Three long years later, as the hostilities continue to escalate, Cynthia now works as an operative for the Purple Butterfly, a local underground resistance group. But sometimes, fate plays cruel games on people. Will Cynthia ever discover that her old flame, too, is in turbulent Shanghai?
