Through spectacular reconstructions, made even more realistic by the use of 3D, the film makes us relive the moments of the eruption: the frightening explosion, the panic among the people, the pyroclastic flow that buried everything. The plaster casts of the victims of Vesuvius are impressive: stories that come to life before our eyes, among faces and gestures incredibly preserved over the centuries, such as the embrace of two young lovers or the desperate attempt of a mother to protect her son. An extraordinary journey through the streets of Pompeii, as it appeared two thousand years ago, before the catastrophe: a lively city, at the height of its splendor, which had assimilated the customs and lifestyle of the Roman Empire.
