Plot Storyline

It is Arild's birthday, but his father has forgotten this and goes to work as usual. The mother is in the hospital to give birth. In the afternoon father and son visit the mother in the hospital.

Malmo, Sweden, 1962. With his expectant mother in the maternity ward and his father juggling work and house responsibilities, 6-year-old Arild can't help but feel neglected. After all, today is his birthday, the most significant event of the year. But a parent never forgets. And beyond grown-ups' worries and problems lies the serene, picturesque Sibbarp.
