Picture a Perfect Christmas

San Francisco based Sophie Griffith is an up and coming photographer, whose assignments send her all around the world. She has been dating fellow photographer Brent Willoughby for three months, his equally hectic schedule leaving them little time to get to know each other let alone see each other. While she waits to hear about a potential job in Switzerland for the new year and with Brent in Seattle on assignment, Sophie has an unexpected break leading up to Christmas. A factor in Sophie's decision to celebrate the holiday with her grandmother Louise on Bainbridge Island, WA is Louise recuperating from an injury limiting her mobility. There, Sophie meets Louise's single neighbor David Murphy, who runs his own successful tech start-up in Seattle, and his nephew Troy Murphy. David became Troy's guardian three years ago when Troy's parents, David's brother and sister-in-law, were killed in an accident. With David having trouble finding a temporary nanny for Troy over the holidays, Sophie volunteers on a day-to-day basis until David can find someone else. In Sophie spending time with both Troy and David, they end up making a connection on all levels including potentially romantically between Sophie and David, and both able to see in a possible relationship with the other a better work/life balance than what currently exists for either. Beyond news about Sophie's potential job in Switzerland, complications in their relationship ensue with Brent still in the picture, he now geographically closer in Seattle than most of their time thus far, and David's old girlfriend Marissa reentering his life.
