Plot:
A week before Christmas, Anna, a cardiac ward nurse at Boston General Hospital, heads home to Kingsbury CT for the holidays, there where her long widowed father, Ed, owns and operates an inn. En route, she meets a group of three seemingly stranded as their flight home has been grounded, she who offers not only rooms at the inn overnight, but a ride there as well as their hired driver is unwilling to go an hour out of his way seeing as to his own commitments. It isn't until after their arrival at the inn that she learns that the three are Queen Gabriella and Crown Prince James of Galwick, and their bodyguard Christopher, her animosity with especially officious James only heightened by he not divulging this information to her directly. She will also eventually learn that part of James' stress is due to needing to make a Christmas Eve address to the nation, his first, last Christmas Eve following the death of his father, the King, which was an unmitigated disaster. This year's speech is even more important as the Prime Minister would like any excuse to get rid of the monarchy. As Anna and James spend time together over the next few days as the royals' stay is extended again and again due to more winter weather issues, and as Anna, Ed and Anna's best friend Sarah, the town's mayor, prepare for the traditional Christmas festivities in town, Anna and James start to fall for each other as Anna unearths a softer and more human side of "the Prince" which he has never shown the people of Galway. The question becomes whether there can be a future for a royal and a commoner separated by an ocean.
