Plot:
Abraham Klimt, a publisher, arrives in a small Swiss town where numerous characters cross paths, to investigate a miracle that recently took place there. It is said that Rachel, the wife of Simon Donnadieu, the restaurateur, saw her husband return one evening, even though he had left on a business trip. She gave herself to him, not without reluctance and not without realizing the next day that she had spent the night in the arms of a "god" eager to experience human love. But who says so? The tennis player, the professor, his students, the bookseller, the doctor, the pastor? As his inquiry unfolds, Klimt gathers fragments of truth that are difficult to piece together, all while contemplating the beauty of the Swiss landscape.
