Plot:
Eighteen year old Peter Mark is a Grade 13 student in Etobicoke, suburban Toronto, about to take his final exams for graduation. While he doesn't yet know what he wants to do after he graduates, he does know he doesn't want a conventional life like his parents' where everything is centered on chasing the almighty dollar without a meaningful goal for working beyond survival or supporting family. His parents are not positive role models for him in they frequently arguing in their differences, his father, Warren, hands off on his upbringing beyond being the breadwinner in owning a car dealership, while his mother, Mary, is overbearing in her singular goal for him being to go to college. That goal is threatened as Peter, in his rebellion, has been skipping classes with his girlfriend of one year, Julie, Peter already having done poorly in his final exams in the previous term. That rebellion leads to a falling out between Peter and both his parents. As such, Peter is forced to try to make it out on his own without their financial support, and without them being there to bail him out if he isn't able to make it. Julie's own end of high school life and her future also plays into what happens with Peter.
