When FBI agent Cara Landry Shannon Tweed accidentally shoots and kills an innocent child during a drug bust, she is suspended from her duties. Racked with guilt and fearing that her career is lost, Cara is transferred to the Treasury Department when her supervisor, Kevin Dowd Steven Bauer, recommends her for an undercover operation. As she tries to rebuild her career, Cara is partnered with her former lover, Mitch Jay Baker. For two years, Mitch has been unsuccessful in trying to capture international counterfeiter, Damian Medina Fernando Allende, and is now obsessed with bringing him to justice. He brings Cara into the operation undercover as a roulette dealer in Damian's luxury casino. Working surveillance teams around the clock, Mitch tries to obtain enough evidence to put Damian in jail for life. While trying to gain his trust, Cara finds herself drawn to Damian and their relationship becomes more involved than originally planned. Mitch is torn between his jealousy for Cara and the fear that she will be unable to do her job when the time comes. Danger and intrigue surround them as the countdown continues to the final climax when Cara must put her personal feelings aside and eliminate Damian and his criminal empire forever.
