Plot:
1932's Minnie the Moocher cartoon opens with a live action sequence of Cab Calloway and his orchestra performing an instrumental rendition of "Saint James Infirmary" and features Calloway dancing. The cartoon segment opens to Betty in a dinner table argument with her immigrant parents. She decides to run away because her parents "are not so sweet" to her. She asks Bimbo to go away with her and soon the two of them seek shelter in a cave. As night falls in the cave, they encounter a ghost walrus, the incarnation of Calloway performing "Minnie the Moocher." The apparition is accompanied by dancing skeletons, ghost convicts being led to the electric chair, and a cat and kittens with no eyes in their sockets. Betty and Bimbo are terrified by the surreal sequence that ends with them being chased by a host of supernatural creatures all the way home. The film ends with Cab Calloway performing the instrumental "Vine Street Blues."
