Mingle All the Way

In this Christmas season in Cedar Falls, Molly Hoffman and Jeff Scanlon are matched on the app Mingle All the Way, which is designed to put together people who need a plus one on their arm at events, all without romantic attachments. Jeff, an advertising executive, seems always to be overlooked by boss Lloyd Grayson whose personal gatherings for company employees are generally geared toward couples, Grayson who will soon be announcing who will be promoted to head their new Los Angeles branch office. Molly, a tech executive, needs that plus one to impress a potential investor. The problem for them is that neither knew the other was their match in it being organized by someone else, they who had had a few antagonistic encounters as strangers before their official "Mingle All the Way" meeting. What Molly also fails to tell Jeff is that the company she leads is Mingle All the Way itself, she and her business partner Tyler Newman who are to document Molly's own personal experience with the app on the app for that potential investor, Helen Lange. While Molly and Jeff decide to give their match a shot in needing that plus one, things get a bit out of control when Jeff blurts out to an impressed Grayson that Molly is his girlfriend, Molly in turn wanting Jeff to be her fake boyfriend for her family, especially to quell criticisms by her mother, Veronica Hoffman, who not only sees Mingle All the Way as folly in wanting Molly to return working for the family's successful accounting firm, but sees Molly's life as a shambles in not having a significant other. As romantic feelings start to develop between Molly and Jeff, potential problems are on the horizon as truths may come to light about their relationship and Molly's association to Mingle All the Way, Brent, Jeff's rival at Grayson's firm who would like nothing better than to take Jeff down a notch, also vying for the promotion to Los Angeles.
