Plot:
An adaptation of the humorous science fiction novel "Martians Go Home" (1954) by Fredric Brown. After a largely unsuccessful career, the professional musician Mark Deveraux has been reduced to writing commercial jingles for a living. He unexpectedly gets hired to write the film score of a science fiction film, and he males an effort to make it sound like a "universal greeting".. Mark is dating a radio producer, and his girlfriend accidentally broadcasts his new musical work in an internationally syndicated show. His broadcast "greeting" reaches the planet Mars, where the local population has grown bored with their lives. A large number of space tourists arrive on Earth, but they are not particularly friendly. They are cosmic pranksters, who want to have fun at humanity's expense. Mark has to play his greeting backwards to send them back to their planet,
