Ransom

Nina Hausen, head of an escort agency, is attacked by a stranger while walking her dog in the woods at night. She barely manages to escape by hitting the man with her car and seriously injuring him. On the way back, she finds a small bag of diamonds in her car - apparently the ransom money from a kidnapping case when a young boy disappeared. Under pressure from a colleague, Nina reports the robbery to the police, but embezzles the diamonds. Nina's agency is under financial pressure and she is also moving abroad for good. Although Nina Hausen seems mysterious to police officers Lysewski and Weber, they are unable to prove anything. In the course of the investigation, Lysewski falls in love with the attractive woman and begins an affair with her. His colleague and buddy Weber, who is more on the side of the law than Lysewski, finds out nothing about it. When Nina, despite police protection, is threatened in her hotel room by the same man who attacked her at night and killed her dog, Lysewski comes to her aid. The man who turns out to be the boy's kidnapper dies during a chase. But what did he want with Nina? Lysewski suspects that Nina has embezzled the diamonds, and Weber once again feels confirmed in his opinion that Nina is involved in the case. He wants to nail Nina by any means necessary, but Lysewski puts a spanner in the works. But when Lysewski discovers that Nina is planning to go abroad, he is faced with perhaps the most important decision of his life.
