Life-Changing Ad

Annette is afraid because Didier, the violent father of her son Eric, is soon to be released from prison. Although she has suffered under the alcoholic man for many years, she is unable to break away from him for good. When she reads farmer Paul's personal ad, she sees her first chance to free herself from the clutches of her ex. She meets the gentle Paul and, although he wants to take things slowly, persuades him to allow her and her son to move in with him immediately on the organic farm in Auvergne. Paul is taken by surprise, but he agrees without a second thought. For a long time, he lived alone with his sister Nicole and his uncle. His last separation was very painful for him. His sister is accordingly suspicious when she meets Annette. The relationship between Paul and Annette is also rather stiff after her arrival, and the first few weeks in the snow-covered wasteland are not easy for the young mother and her son. Just as they are settling in, Annette receives a court summons: Eric's father is out of prison and has found out about the couple's move. Now he wants to sue for sole custody of his son.
