Light Years Away

Jonas, a twenty-five-year-old drifter, meets old Yoshka Poliakoff, an eccentric old man with a passion for birds. Yoshka lives in the middle of nowhere, in an abandoned garage where he secretly devotes himself to mysterious work. For years, he has been pursuing the dream of flying like a bird. He treats Jonas harshly, making him do all kinds of chores, then decides to initiate him into his secret. Soon, a strange relationship develops between the two men, both friendly and conflictual. Then Jonas meets Betty, a middle-aged woman, who becomes his lover. The two lovers meet in a trailer in a car graveyard. One day, Yoshka drives Betty away.
