Leila's Brothers

Leila has dedicated her life to looking after her parents and four brothers. In Iran, which is groaning under international economic sanctions, the family is increasingly sinking into a maelstrom of debt and shattered dreams. They are all desperately looking for a way to make ends meet, but the prospects are bleak. In this precarious situation, Leila makes a bold decision: she plans to buy a store and set up her own business with her brothers. Each family member is expected to contribute their savings, but despite all their efforts, a crucial amount is still missing. The situation comes to a head when Leila discovers that her father Esmail has received a substantial inheritance and is hiding it from the family. Instead of alleviating the plight of his children, he pursues a completely different plan: he wants to use the money to become the new patriarch in his community - a position of the highest prestige in Persian tradition. While Leila desperately tries to change her father's mind and keep the brothers in line, the family's cohesion begins to crumble. In the midst of these tensions, Esmail's health suddenly takes a turn for the worse.
