Chinese Glory

Toward the end of the Second World War, Michel Perrat, the son of a collaborator from Grenoble, withdraws to his grandmother's residence on the Vercors plateau in an attempt to remain uninvolved in the conflict. On July 21, 1944, German forces occupy the plateau, expelling its inhabitants. Michel witnesses the death of his grandmother and is forced to flee. During his escape, he joins a small group of maquis fighters and civilians seeking to evade the German army. Initially unwilling to engage in armed resistance, Michel becomes involved in a struggle for survival within a maquis under complete encirclement. The group undertakes a perilous journey across mountains and forests over several days, enduring constant pursuit by enemy forces.
