The Last Journey

In the near future, the Earth has become a desert planet due to both human exploitation and climate change. Since then, a new planet has served as a source of raw materials for humans, but now that the so-called Red Moon threatens to collide with Earth, there is no alternative but to destroy this resource-rich celestial body. Astronaut Paul W.R. (Hugo Becker) was recruited for this mammoth task as part of a training program run by his father Henri's (Jean Reno) space agency. But Paul has deserted, as a childhood trauma binds him emotionally to the Red Moon. Instead of Paul, his older brother Eliott (Paul Hamy) takes on the mission. He fails, but survives and, after coming into contact with the Red Moon's magnetic field, is able to read and manipulate thoughts. Humiliated by his failure, Eliott joins the hunt for his fugitive brother, stopping at nothing to find him. Meanwhile, Paul meets a girl named Elma (Lya Oussadit-Lessert) while searching for an unknown forest that repeatedly appears in his dreams. After Elma's alcoholic father (Bruno Lochet) dies in an encounter with Eliott, she joins Paul. Together, Paul and Elma roam the no man's land of what was once France, while Eliott closes in on them and a duel between the two brothers becomes inevitable.
