Le chene d'Allouville

In the small town of Allouville,a lot of tourists arrive to see the old oak (1300 year-old).But a Depute wants the road to be widened :it means that the roots of the tree have to be cut .The mayor supports the politician who has promised him the Legion D'Honneur .But the mayor's daughter,who does not want to marry the gay Depute and the vicar rebel against this ominous plan .The whole village follows close on their heels.The road is up ,the workers are protected by the state security police ( .the riot police) but they have not heard the last of the inhabitants.
