Lucie and Samuel Carrera celebrate their wedding at the Lake Guery inn. When a violent rainstorm falls, the newlyweds and 5 others take refuge under a tree, which is struck by lightning. Samuel is killed, but the others survive. 2 years later, they gather to pay tribute to Samuel, including the inn owner Felix Guyon, Felix's wife Marta, Felix's sister Irene, the inn's seasonal worker Nouria Bensaid, and the ceremony photographer David Dorval, whose wife Doris is missing. Nouria disappears first. Clermont-Ferrand Search Unit Commander Julien Eider leads the investigation with Lucie's assistance. But Nouria is found dead. Afterwards, both Marta and Irene disappear. Marta is also found dead. It comes out that after Doris was hit by drunken Felix, out of fear he dumped her body into the lake, resulting her being reported missing. However, David uncovered the truth at Lucie's wedding after overhearing an argument between Felix and Marta. He decided to kill Felix's mistress Nouria, wife Marta, and sister Irene, so that he would experience the same pain of losing the women he loves. Now it's Irene's turn to die. The investigators manage to stop him in time by fatally shooting him. Felix and Irene are arrested.
