Kopftuchmafia: Ein Stinatz Krimi

When farmer Charly Pieber goes to harvest his cornfield, he discovers something terrible: a dead bride lies among the green plants in the early morning sunlight. It soon transpires that the woman's name is Anna Jusic and that she celebrated her wedding yesterday. But how could the young Croatian woman's new life end so dramatically? The murder case is entrusted to police inspector Sifkovits, known to everyone as "Schiffi" - because he grew up in the small Austrian community of Stinatz and knows the people there very well. But the case quickly turns out to be much more complex than expected: While Schiffi tries to work his way through intrigues and personal entanglements, he unexpectedly receives support from a very special trio: the clever Hilda Resetarits, the astute Resl Grandits and Schiffi's mother Baba know everything about everyone. A people search on social media couldn't be quicker, because when the three elderly ladies make their rounds through the small community, they not only talk about the latest gossip, but also have their eyes on everything and everyone. But the more Schiffi finds out about the bride's mysterious past and the villagers' dark secrets, the more opaque the case becomes. In search of answers or clues that may have escaped him, he turns to his mother and her two friends, who help him with their insider knowledge. Old friends from his childhood also support the somewhat clumsy but determined police inspector. But when Schiffi finally believes he has tracked down the murderer, he hopes deep down that this time he might be wrong.
