Hirkani

Hirkani a milk maid lived in a village near the Raigad fort.The villagers had to cross the gates of fort leading to the road for their day to day work.The gates of the fort would open early in the morning and shut in the evening as per order of Shivaji Maharaj.One day Hirkani after selling her milk in market reached late by the them the gates were closed and would open only in the morning .As her she had left her kid alone in the house she had to return back.Hirkani with her bravery climbed the huge fort bruising herself.Inspired by her bravery tale Shivaji Maharaj built a wall in her name known as Hirkani Buruj.
