Plot Storyline

A drunkard ex-cop on Australia's Gold Coast writing an expose book is hired to find a prominent politician's runaway daughter, which leads to all kinds of weird encounters, catching up with old friends, and an attempted military coup.

On Queensland's Gold Coast in the early 1980s, when a disgraced former cop, Michael Stacey writes a book exposing police corruption, does an investigation resulting in 2 murders, exposes a religious cult and watches the army begin a military coup.
