Fishing for Love

Known locally as the best in the business, Kendall moved to the "big city" of Seattle to open her own architectural firm, Seacoast Architects, which specializes in restaurant design. In the middle of submitting a proposal for who may be her most challenging potential client for what may be her most lucrative contract, Kendall heads back to her small hometown of Mystic Bay, a fishing village, both to get some inspiration, and upon learning that her fisherman father, Lee, is not only thinking about retiring, but in the process is thinking about selling the family fishing boat, the Sweet Serenity, which has been in their family for generations. The boat is sentimental not only to Lee but to Kendall as it is one of the last touchstones she has to her long deceased mother, who was the reason she got into the design business. Her visit home coincides with the town's annual Big Catch Festival. While not officially yet on the market, Kendall learns that Lee has already had two offers, one from his friend Ron who would use it solely for parts, and the other from a newcomer to town, Zack, who is offering less but would keep it as is to expand his fishing business. While Lee has no issue with the money, he would prefer to sell it to someone who would keep it as a fishing boat like Zack, however Zack, as a newcomer, has not endeared himself to Lee. In learning Zack's story in that he, as a widower, has focused his life on his now adolescent daughter Arial, hence the reason he has not made much of an effort to get to know his new neighbors, Kendall takes it upon herself to ingratiate Zack with Lee and the other townsfolk. In the process, Kendall and Zack start to fall for each other. With the trifecta of problems - trying to help Zack, having continual issues with the contract, and last minute issues with the festival threatening it even happening - as a backdrop which makes her reevaluate her big city life, Kendall also reevaluates coming together with Zack in any manner in believing he not being the person he portrayed himself to be.
