Endless Harmony

This film was made in a symbolic storytelling way to criticize the suppression of freedom of thought. We have 2 main character in this film, First we see the older character walking towards the altar. Then, we see the younger one, running for his life, his freedom But soon he falls down in despair, and comes across a branch.The branch in his hand begins to transform into a violin bow Then he begins to play music expressing all that he's feeling, encouraging others, and as a final gesture of resistance. As he plays, darkness descends.We return to the older character who is playing the same song at the same location. However, his song is his way of praying for the other. He the violin as a tribute, next to the other instruments, and takes his leave. Director's Note In Endless Harmony, we portray the theme of "Ideas and ideologies cannot be oppressed and prevented by others!" through the characters representing a variety of arts. In the story, these characters are running away from something unknown within the fire and smoke. The characters representing music, literature, and performing arts represent people under oppression for various reasons in daily life. The different branches of art symbolizes the ideologies and ideas of the characters while the fire and smoke symbolize the oppressing mentality. What they are truly trying to escape from are their own silhouettes in the smoke. The fire, representing the oppressive mentality, can be extinguished with water as necessary; and smoke cannot cause any harm as long as it is not inhaled. What about one's own self? The only thing that can oppress a person is his or herself.
