Actually, 32-year-old journalist Christina wanted to take a vacation in Provence. But a colleague breaks his leg and, of course, she has to fill in for him. Shortly before leaving for Masuria, her car is stolen and Christina's grandmother Elsa will only lend her the car if she can come along. Christina loves her grandmother very much, but as a travel companion she is a pain in the neck, and Christina is constantly arguing with the Polish photographer Marek. But this trip will change the life of the 32-year-old journalist. Christina learns why her grandmother is accompanying her. In 1944, Elsa had to leave Masuria and her first great love. In the post-war turmoil, she was unable to find Joachim again, but she could not forget him. She has not given up hope that she will find Joachim after all. Through Elsa and Marek, Christina discovers a landscape and people that increasingly inspire her. And on this journey, she finds what she was not even looking for: the love of her life.
