Murder in Sainte Baume

Captain Fred Carel, from the Central Office for the Fight against Environmental and Public Health Damage, is back in his hometown of Saint-Ambroise in Provence. He and Sara Becker, local Gendarmerie Lieutenant, are investigating the death of Antoine Bernier, killed by dozens of bee stings to which he was allergic. Several suspicious elements converge on Louise, Anais, and Geraldine Portal, for Antoine was one of the only survivors of the tragic bus accident years ago that claimed the lives of almost the entire local junior football team. Louise, Anais, and Geraldine lost their father, husband, and son respectively. During the investigation, Louise's boyfriend Bastien is also found dead. The investigators come to realize that since Antoine was in love with Anais, he wrote a confession letter acknowledging his being responsible for the bus accident but dared not send out. When Antoine's daughter Christie Bernier read the letter found out by chance, Geraldine happened to visit and peeked at the letter. Hence, Geraldine killed Antoine in revenge for her son's death. In addition, because Bastien knew Geraldine is the killer and asked her to turn herself in, she had to silence him. She is arrested.
