Coin-Operated Boy

The outside world is mysterious and dirty to Lydia, a bookish young woman living under the protective gaze of her pristine Mother, and factory working Father in their immaculate Victorian home. Lydia fills out a mail order for a steam-punk Coin-Operated Companion Boy from right under her parent's nose, and when her Boy arrives, she discovers how quickly the idea of perfection can crumble.
