Chasing Hope

Hope Howard has given up everything for her career, only to be betrayed by her boss Dr. Jakes and unceremoniously fired for no apparent reason. After recovering from the shock, she returns to her hometown to sort out her life while reconnecting with her high school best friend Stephanie. Shortly after her departure, Dr. Jakes, a desperate scientist, discovers Hope holds the secret to his fatal illness - but she has disappeared. When visiting her mother's grave, Hope has a tense encounter with her estranged father. Days later she unexpectedly bumps into her former high school love who ended their relationship abruptly without explanation. Bitterness rises up in her as she relives afresh the rejection and hurt caused by these three important men in her life. Jakes takes increasingly desperate measures to find Hope including hiring a computer hacker to locate and track her whereabouts after she seemingly has fallen off the grid. Meanwhile, Hope aggressively seeks to discover the true reason why she was terminated. A statewide chase ensues culminating with Hope coming face to face with her pursuer. Throughout this suspense thriller drama Hope is forced to consider the events that caused her resentment. She must decide whether to hang on to bitterness or embrace forgiveness, regardless of how much she was wronged. She faces the brink of death before she makes her choice.
