Plot:
1492. All east-west trade in the known world must pass through Turkey. As such, the Sultan has made a fortune charging exorbitant tariffs for any goods passing through his jurisdiction. He fears his lucrative trade monopoly may come to an end when he learns that an Italian mapmaker named Christopher Columbus is trying to convince King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella of Spain to finance a trade expedition to India and China in order to bring back riches for the kingdom, anything of value but most specifically gold. As such, the Sultan sends one of his operatives, Fatima, to go undercover to thwart any attempt of Chris being able to accomplish what he intends to do. So when Fatima learns that the King and Queen have agreed to Chris' proposal, Fatima and the Sultan's other flunky Ahmed are able to get themselves hired to work aboard the ship, their most specific goal to steal the scroll with the Hebrew writing that outlines the route to the Far East. To pass as a ship hand, Fatima needs to don a disguise. Chris may have a plethora of other problems, from finding reliable men to sail with him, to dealing with Countess Esmeralda who also has wealth on her mind, and communicating with anyone they meet along the way who may also have a different value system than Europeans.
