Plot:
26-year-old Camille Lepage (Nina Meurisse) is a photojournalist with heart and soul. It is important to her to meet people on equal terms and to be right in the middle of the action. In late fall 2013, she returns to France from the Central African Republic to show her pictures, taken during the beginning of the civil war, to a photo expert at the Visa pour l'image photojournalism festival. His demand for more focus spurs her ambition. She returned to the Central African Republic, where violent protests were taking place in the capital Bangui against the Seleka rebels who were massacring the population in the north of the country. Thanks to her connections with students, Camille always managed to be right in the middle of things; she was not afraid. Her contact with other European journalists, mainly men, is rather limited. When she wants to join a group of experienced French photographers who have already worked in numerous crisis centers around the world and work for Le Monde, among others, to document the escalating events in the north, they refuse to take her with them. She stays in Bangui and photographs local demonstrations against the Seleka, helping her friend Cyril (Fiacre Bindala), a student, to flee. Shortly afterwards, she meets war photographer Mathias (Gregoire Colin), who helps her establish contact with Liberation. She is able to sell her first photos to the newspaper. But as interest in the conflict in Central Africa wanes in Europe, Camille begins to question herself. After visiting her parents in Angers, she sets off again. The other journalists have left Bangui. She sets out in search of Cyril, who has since become the leader of an anti-Balaka unit. She accompanies the group on their raids against the Seleka, but has increasing doubts about the point of the mutual killing. During one of her raids, Camille and the soldiers are ambushed.
