Buona Sera, Mrs. Campbell

For twenty years, thirty-six year old Carla Campbell, who has lived her entire life in her hometown of San Forino, Italy, has kept a secret, namely that she doesn't know the exact identity of her now young adult daughter Gia Campbell's biological father, he one of three US Air Force servicemen she had relationships with over a ten day period when their squadron, the 293rd, was stationed in town when she was sixteen and recently orphaned: Lt. Justin Young, Cpl. Phil Newman, or Sgt. Walter Braddock. In not knowing and in wanting some respectability, she made up that Gia's father was another member of the squadron, her wealthy husband Capt. Eddie Campbell, who died shortly after leaving town: this information all a lie in there really being no such person as Eddie Campbell and thus she never having been married. As she found out about her pregnancy after the squadron was gone, Carla wrote to the three to tell them of her condition, each who has provided a support check to her every month for twenty years in each believing he the father, the name Eddie Campbell which each further believes is a euphemism for him. An unexpected consequence of this lie is that Carla has become a wealthy woman in receiving three times the money she ever needed, she owning a vineyard outside of town operated by her sometimes sexual partner Vittorio, the only other man ever to have been in her life, and having a full-time maid, Rosa, at her villa in town. Complications ensue when the squadron reconvenes for the first time in twenty years, back in San Forino to pay their gratitude to the town that showed them hospitality by dedicating a new chapel. Not only are the three men returning, but along with them their respective wives, and in Phil's case his three young sons. As each has some issue with his marriage, each longs not only to get reacquainted with Carla but to meet for the first time "his" daughter Gia, who is coming home from boarding school in Geneva specifically to meet the friends of her father so that she can learn more about him. Needing to keep the three men, their wives and Gia at bay from finding out the truth, Carla confides in both Rosa and Vittorio, who help her juggle the various meetings and stories.
