Beneath the Surface

The slave of an other's agency since birth, Ethan finds himself a boy unable to believe in concepts of dreams or affection. Seeking death yet unready, he succumbs to viciousness, losing his soul to his father, the devil. He becomes a wild beast hunting for the blood of others until a girl with a red umbrella walks into the dull rain of his life, making him question whether he's truly alive while playing dead. Unable to see with eyes unclouded by his fathers hate, Ethan attempts to slip the knot, this time not on himself but the one he loved most, giving out public information to sociopaths. It's only by an innocuous comment he realizes to search for the depth of his mistake. Once found, he becomes wracked with guilt. In an attempt to undo the pain of the past, he throws himself down many rabbit holes only to find that what he may have been fighting for wasnt a hope of life but a continuance of his wish for death. Damned if he does damned if he doesnt, he continues on knowing that for the first time he may trully be able to give something for nothing in return, for no reason other than affection.
