Bedtime Story

Husband and wife Lucius and Jane Drake have been a Broadway power couple for seven years, she starring in his written, produced and directed plays, always to great acclaim and success. They had made the decision to retire to a recently purchased country house, she making that retirement announcement public before finding out, as he had done before when they had contemplated retirement, that he has already written a new play in which he wants her to star. For Luke, this play is taking everything they've ever done to the next level especially for Jane in it all centered around her, while for Jane, this time, she sees them and/or him proceeding with it possible grounds for divorce. Luke uses every trick in the book, many underhanded, to get what he wants, while Jane may have an unintended weapon in another man in the wings, an old beau, banker William Dudley, who always felt she married the wrong person. Luke is banking on the following items overriding all else: Jane having the theater in her blood like he does; her recognition that this role, perhaps the greatest she will ever read, is tailor made for her; and that she still loves him.
